Cannes

The driver’s guide

The addresses I give my own passengers in Cannes: the distinguished tables, the institutions of the Croisette and the Suquet, the private beaches, the islands, the museums and the nights of the Palm Beach. Each one with its phone number, its website and directions.

Restaurants

Nothing here was chosen on the strength of online ratings. Three families only: the 2026 Michelin Guide, the institutions that passengers ask for by name, and the houses of the Suquet and the Forville market, where you eat the catch of the day.

The 2026 Michelin stars

One star in Cannes itself, and four more a few minutes away — Le Cannet, Mandelieu, Théoule. Those are real taxi rides, and they are worth it.

Michelin star
La Palme d'Or
Hôtel Martinez, boulevard de la Croisette
The restaurant of the Hôtel Martinez, on the Croisette, now led by Jean Imbert. A menu written like a film script, in homage to cinema, and cooking that looks to the sea and to Provence.

Two Michelin stars
La Villa Archange
Le Cannet — rue de l'Ouest — Le Cannet
Bruno Oger's two stars, in an eighteenth-century Provençal bastide up in Le Cannet. The finest table around Cannes, ten minutes from the Croisette.

Bib Gourmand
Bistrot des Anges
Le Cannet — rue de l'Ouest — Le Cannet

Chef Francesco Fezza at the Château de Théoule, somewhere between Italy, France and Japan, facing the Estérel.
IN THÉOULE

Bessem
Mandelieu-la-Napoule
Bessem Ben Abdallah, in Mandelieu: seasonal cooking built around the ingredient, in a plain dining room.
IN MANDELIEU
Bib Gourmand
Aux Bons Enfants
rue Meynadier
A family house on rue Meynadier since 1935, a step away from the Forville market. Home-made Provençal cooking, one set menu. For years it had neither a telephone nor a card machine: you walked in and sat down.
SINCE 1935

The institutions — the ones you will be asked for by name

No star, no label, but everyone in Cannes knows them. These are the addresses a passenger names unprompted, and the ones you have to book — especially in May.

An institution
Astoux et Brun
27 rue Félix Faure
The seafood institution of Cannes, the same family since 1953, a step from the Palais des Festivals. Oysters, shellfish platters, served without a break until late.

An institution
Le Maschou
rue Saint-Antoine, le Suquet
A stone room in the Suquet and a single set menu: wood-fire grills and a great basket of raw vegetables set down on the table. Not an address you forget.
